Pacjentka w ciąży, która zdecyduje się na poród w Wojewódzkim Szpitalu Zespolonym im. Stanisława Rybickiego w Skierniewicach powinna zgłosić się do oddziału położniczo-ginekologicznego w celu przyjęcia w oddziale. Przyjmujemy Pacjentki ciężarne do porodu bez skierowania i bez ograniczeń terytorialnych.
W szpitalu prowadzone są porody: fizjologiczne (rodzinne), operacyjne, septyczne. U ciężarnych z ciążą prawidłową przebywających w bloku porodowym istnieje możliwość ciągłego nadzoru stanu płodu. Wykwalifikowany personel zapewnia kompleksową i specjalistyczną opiekę nad kobietą ciężarną i płodem.
Odcinek położniczy zorganizowany jest w systemie rooming-in, który umożliwia przebywanie w 2-osobowych salach matek wraz z noworodkami. Oddział umożliwia odwiedziny ojców i innych najbliższych członków rodziny pacjentki. W oddziale przestrzega się zasad wynikających z programu „10 kroków do udanego karmienia piersią", związanego z procedurą nadania przez UNICEF statusu „Szpital Przyjazny Dziecku", uzyskanego przez naszą placówkę w 1996 r.
Do dyspozycji Pacjentek jest nowoczesna, jednostanowiskowa sala porodów rodzinnych oraz trzystanowiskowa sala porodów ogólnych. Wyboru w której sali planowany jest poród pacjentka dokonuje na etapie rejestracji. Szpital zastrzega sobie prawo do zmiany lokalizacji porodu z przyczyn organizacyjnych oraz wskazań lekarskich – w sali porodów rodzinnych mogą się odbywać wyłącznie porody fizjologiczne. Porody w naszym szpitalu są bezpłatne. Do dyspozycji Pacjentek jest również bezpłatne znieczulenie zewnątrzoponowe oraz gaz łagodzący doznania bólowe "Entonox".
